An opportunity has arisen for Prospects, in conjunction with Rev Paul Houiellebrecq, to provide supported living for adults with learning disabilities in Abercynan. The accommodation, which could support 6 -7 people is in 3/4 flats is in a community with good local amenities, public transport and local Christian support.
We would be pleased to hear from you if you would like to discuss this further, and if there is enough interest we will arrange a meeting in Abercynan towards the end of September. This would be an opportunity for us to introduce Prospects’ supported living services to you and for you to ask us questions and view the accommodation should you so wish. Consequently may we invite you to respond to Jo Bodsworth – details below – by July 31st.

History Prospects was founded by David and Madeleine Potter in 1976 as "A Cause for Concern". Since then Prospects has seen remarkable growth throughout the United Kingdom. Our policies and activities are based on the Principle of Personal Value and we operate within a distinctive Christian ethos. Prospects works in partnership with local authorities, Housing Associations and local churches. We are committed to expressing Christian principles and values through high standards of professional practice, supporting and enabling adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full. In August 1997 Prospects achieved the Investor in People Award which accredits its professional approach to management practice and the training and development of staff and volunteers to fulfil its mission and objectives. Prospects supports over 300 people with learning disabilities in a range of living and day opportunities settings throughout the UK. In addition there are now approximately 150 Causeway Prospects groups across the UK providing Christian spiritual support. Our first home opened in 1979 in Aberystwyth and Prospects now has nearly 50 services in different parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. People with learning disabilities are supported by staff in a variety of living situations: - in one of 10 small residential homes
- as tenants in supported living projects,
- in their own homes
