The Lighthouse Group (TLG) is a Christian charity that works through local churches to support young people who have been excluded from school, are at risk of exclusion or are at a crisis point in their education.

Our vision is to help teenagers growing up in some of the toughest circumstances.  By combining education with personal development we address behavioural difficulties and the issues that have put a young person in crisis.  Our purpose is to work with those who are missing out not only on an education but more often than not on a childhood.

Churches working together with "compassion ministries" to serve their local communities have made a real impact over the past few years in Wales.  Each of the compassion ministries active in Wales provides a way for churches to engage constructively – without having to re-invent the wheel.

The conference was designed to give Christians a better understanding of mental health issues in their own lives, in the lives of their friends and loved ones, and in the lives of the people they minister to and work among. It was held at Glenwood Church, Cardiff, on 15th November 2011.
